From ensuring everything runs smoothly to organising exciting pop-ups for our tenants, Luana is a key part of what makes 54 Hagley Road such a great place to be. Always on hand to help and brighten up the day, she keeps the building buzzing with energy and efficiency.
We recently caught up with Luana to learn more about her role, her favourite local spots, and what she loves most about being part of the team at 54 Hagley Road.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your job
I was born in Lisbon, Portugal, but Birmingham has been home for many years now. When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me out running – or balancing that out by discovering new places to eat! At 54 Hagley Road, I’m the friendly face at front of house, making sure everything runs smoothly. I’ve been here for a year and a half, and I love being part of a team that keeps things ticking over effortlessly.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m fluent in Portuguese! (So if you ever fancy a language lesson, you know where to find me.)
What does a normal working day look like for you?
- First things first – emails!
- Refill the all-important freebies section.
- Find the perfect Spotify playlist to set the vibe for the day.
- Line up some fantastic independent businesses to showcase for our tenants next month.
What has been your favourite event that you’ve organised?
I’ve had some brilliant ones, but two standouts are Malmaison & Hotel du Vin and Mary Cupcake. Both were super engaging, and it’s always great to see people enjoying themselves!
How do you travel to the office?
I drive – just a quick 20-minute journey door to door, nice and easy! But one of the great things about 54 Hagley Road is how well-connected it is. With plenty of bus routes, train stations nearby, and even cycle-friendly options, getting here is a breeze no matter how you travel.
What are your favourite places in the local area?
Waterstones! I’m a big book lover, and you can’t beat the feeling of getting lost in a good story.
What do you like about working at 54 Hagley Road?
The team. We all work together to keep everything running smoothly, and there’s a real sense of teamwork.
What’s your favourite thing about working with the team at 54 Hagley Road?
Communication – we’re always on the same page, which makes everything so much easier.
What’s your go-to order at a coffee shop?
I’m spoilt for choice, especially with our very own coffee shop right here at 54 Hagley Road! Whether it’s a fresh pastry to kickstart the morning or a midday caffeine fix, it’s always a win.
If I’m out and about, I’ve got a few go-to favourites – something savoury, something sweet, and always a treat! Costa’s toasties and frappes hit the spot, Starbucks’ Pink Coconut Refresha is a must-try, and Greggs? Well, you can’t go wrong with pizza, wedges, and a caramel custard doughnut.
But nothing beats the convenience of grabbing a coffee right here in the building!
