Occupants of 54 Hagley Road can look forward to a faster, more accessible journey to the Grade A office complex thanks to the extension of the West Midlands Metro tram line.

The renewed route, which previously took commuters half an hour on foot or 20 minutes by bus to complete, has connected the city centre to Edgbaston via a 12-minute-journey.

Boasting an additional 1.3km line extension to three new stops in Brindleyplace, Five Ways and Edgbaston Village, the line offers 54 Hagley Road occupants a direct route from Wolverhampton to Edgbaston, with trams available every 12-15 minutes and a stop situated outside the office complex.

Fast access to New Street Station, Snow Hill Station or Wolverhampton from Hagley Road has equally been ensured.

Such frequent services will facilitate flexible travel for anyone needing to attend meetings, networking events and lunches in the city centre.

The updated service is a step in the right direction for Birmingham’s transport, the city’s second-largest emitter of carbon emissions.

As a more sustainable mode of travel, the tramline will enable businesses located at 54 Hagley Road to reduce their carbon footprint.

In a progression of this latest development, plans are underway to further extend the West Midlands Metro route to north Solihull.

Running 16.5km, the new lines will link areas such as Bordesley Green, Heartlands Hospital and HS2’s Curzon Street Terminal to Birmingham’s city centre.
